3. Identify the difference between the two cultural celebration

Materials: Whiteboard projector and camera, Key vocabulary, Seasme Street Cinco de Mayo
video, Key vocabulary, Venn Diagram, coloring sheets

Guided Practice: Open brainstorming discussion naming traditional Fourth of July celebration
practices. Student use Venn diagram to compare/contrast


Group Practice:
Students watch Cinco de Mayo video. After video open discussion on
new/different customs learned in regards Cinco de Mayo celebration.

Independent Practice

Student write additional unknown facts about Cinco de Mayo learned in the video.
