Sub : Gas Supply interruption

Al Ghail power LLC is one of the priority consumer of RAK Gas and power supply
provider for almost 250 industrial and residential customers at Al Ghail and Al Hamra
Industrial parks. Majority of our consumers does not have back-up source of power and
depends on Al Ghail Power LLC for uninterrupted power supply, putting onus on us to
operate our generating units at highest reliability.

However, the gas supply was interrupted for more than one hour on 29
th
March from
7:20 AM to 8:30 AM, which caused collapse of Al Ghail Power grid and tripped all Gas
turbines of Al Ghail Power LLC. It took another three more hours to restore power
supply to all customers after getting the gas supply. In addition to business loss of more
than 100,000 Dhs to Al Ghail power , our customers has more problems in re-starting
their process industries.

We understand that the tripping of gas supply was due to spurious fire alarm at the gas
station near Al Ghail power plant. I am sure that your maintenance crew is looking into
it so that such trips can be avoided in future. Further, time taken by RAK Gas person to
reach to the gas station was also high and has potential to reduce it.


We will highly appreciate if RAK Gas considers our concerns with due importance.
