OnetopicIhavelearninCalculusisderivatives.Thisisthemostbasicprincipleof
Calculus.Derivativesisavariableinrespecttoanothervariable.Forexample,tofindvelocitywe
wouldhavetofindthederivativeofdistanceinrespecttotime.WithoutknowingwhatDerivatives
wasIusingitinalmostallofmyscienceclasses.NowthatIknowwhatitis,myunderstandof
Mathhasincreasedramaticallywhichmakesmeastrongermathstudent.
LikemanycourseinBlackstone,Calculusfeaturedtheflippedclassroommodel.
PersonallyIdontlikethismodelbecauseIfeelthatitlackstheengagementthatclassroom
lessonsgive.ThisisahugeproblemsformewhenitcometoMathbecauseIliketoask
questionsonceIlearnsomethingsoIcanhaveeverythingfreshinmymind.Howeverbecause
oftheflippedclassroomIwasforcetomoveatthefastpacethatCalculusclassrightatmaking
studyfortestandunderstandmaterialallthemorechallenging.HowevertheFlippedclassroom
doesmakeiteasytogetnotesImissedschoolsoIcouldcaughtup.
WhiletakingCalculusIlearnthatIshouldbemoreresourceful.Unlikeearlymathclasses
likeAlgebraI,II,GeometryandPreCalculusIcouldaskalmostanyonetohelpmewithmymath
homework.HoweverwithCalculusthatnotthecase,youhadtoreliedontheteacher,the
internetandmostimportantlyyourself.IfIcouldofstickmyheadoutmoreandlookformore
resourcemyexperiencewithCalculuscouldofchangebutitwasagoodlearningexperience.
Calculusistrulyachallengingclassbutnotbecauseofitscontentbutbecauseofthelackof
resourcethereistohelpinmyhonestopinion.
