Lasagne

For two)
Ingredient:
Sauce
250 ml ground beef

1/3 chopped onion
1 carrot
1 celery stalk
1 clove garlic
200 ml crushed or diced
tomato
50 ml tomato paste
5 ml brown sugar
2 ml basil
5 ml oregano
Dash of chili powder (if desired)

Cheese Filling
125 ml cottage cheese
80 ml chopped, frozen spinach
1 small egg
10 ml parsley flakes
15 ml parmesan cheese
Pasta
4 lg or 8 small
lasagna noodles
5 ml oil
1 ml salt
Mozzarella Layer
80 ml grated
mozzarella

Divide mozza into
three piles

Top layer
2ml parsley
1ml paprika
Pasta:
Preheat oven to 350
Method:

1. Fill large saucepan 2/3 with water, cover and place on max. heat until it boils.
2. When water is boiling, add salt, oil and lasagna noodles. You need to add noodles
to boiling water and let them cook until they soften enough to push the top half of
noodles into the pot. Boil noodles 10 min. Set timer!!
3. Drain using a colander and rinse with cold water. Set aside and divide into 3
groups.
Meat Sauce:
1. Brown beef with chopped onions, and garlic. Drain excess fat.
2. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, and seasonings.
3. Bring sauce to a boil and simmer 20-25 min. stirring occasionally.
4. Check consistency of sauce, add more canned tomatoes or tomato sauce to thin, if
necessary.
Cheese Sauce:
1: In a bowl combine cottage cheese; egg, parsley flakes and parmesan cheese..
. Layers: :
1. Place about 25 ml of the liquid from the. tomato sauce at the bottom of the loaf pan.
2. Place a layer of noodles over this
3. Add cottage cheese mixture
5. Place another layer of noodles.
6. Top with the meat sauce.
7. Sprinkle meat sauce with 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese.
8. Add last layer of noodles.
9. Spread tomato sauce on top of noodles
10. Sprinkle with last of the mozzarella cheese.
11. Sprinkle with parsley flakes and paprika.
12. Bake at 350F for 20-25 minutes. Cover with foil for the first 10 minutes
13. Broil at the end of the cooking time to brown the cheese, if desired.
