2lo'al Adult #o'acco Survey (2A#S) (ndonesia said that the nu&'er of
s&oker in (ndonesia is 3-4 &illion5 (t6s the &ost a&ounts of 3 other
countries5 #he ha'it of s&oking cause the decreased of saliva acidity degree5
)iswak contains of 'icar'onate- phosphate- calciu&- staterin- and fluoride5 (ts
gives good effect either direct or indirect to s&oker5 #he goal of this
e0peri&ent is to know the influence of using &iswak to salivary pH of s&oker
&en and to know how long has &iswak can defend it5 (t is an e0peri&ental
research using clinical trial pre-posttest5 (t has "7 respondent that divide into
8 groups5 9ach groups have to 'it and chew &iswak to their &outh5 #hen-
they have to fast along hour (P group)- " hours (P" group)- and 8 hours
(P8 group)5 #he result of this e0peri&ent is &iswak can increase the salivary
pH of s&oker &en 'ut not significant5 #he increase of pH is :53; (P group)-
35"1 (P" group)- and 3514 (P8 group)5 #he conclusion is there is an influence
of &iswak to increase the salivary pH of s&oker &en and can defend it along

negara yaitu 3-4 <uta penduduk5 Ke'iasaan &erokok dala& waktu yang

group control design dengan "7 sa&pel5 Sa&pel di'erikan kayu siwak untuk
dikunyah dan digosokkan ke rongga &ulut ke&udian dipuasakan sela&a

peningkatan pH saliva perokok aktif laki-laki setelah di'eri kayu siwak secara

adalah adanya pengaruh penggunaan kayu siwak yaitu &eningkatkan pH
