We have implemented a new management structure in our stores that will enable us to provide improved service to our customers and enhanced career opportunities for our associates. We tested this new management structure in select stores across Canada over the past six months and have received positive feedback from both our customers and associates. The new management structure makes more of our associates available during peak shopping periods when our customers need us the most, and gives our associates greater access to their managers for their ongoing career development. As a result of the new management structure, approximately 1,!! associates have been promoted to more senior positions, approximately "!! new store management roles have been added, and approximately #$! roles have been eliminated. Associates whose roles have been eliminated will receive severance packages, professional career services and support, or can apply for other positions at Walmart. The role eliminations make up less than 1% of our Canadian workforce and average out to less than two positions per store. &verall Walmart Canada is a growth company and is generating many new 'obs as we expand our store network and our food and e( commerce businesses. We will create #,$!! new 'obs in Canada this year alone including trade and construction 'obs.
