90s Present Q&A

1) From your viewings what did you find to be the most interesting and why?
I had a favourite going on for the 1990s, growing up I have always loved rock. Sadly,
rock seems to be being shut out lately leaving me to connect with the 90s and early 2000s. I
was not a big 2000s fan, especially the further I got into it. When it came to 2010 2012, I had
barely any songs click in my head. Then for some reason when I hit the year 2013. Almost every
song was clicking, at first I had the thought it was just more intensified music, like rock. Then, I
came to what I see as a more realistic explanation, my pre-teen/ teen years were filled with
these songs and it clicked the same was the rock, which I had listened to for my whole life. I
guess your teenage years really do reflect upon the thinking process, or maybe it was just
because it was recent. I guess I will have to wait 20 years to really find out!

2) In your own words who and what were the early influences in music and why?
I would like to drop onto the old rock and roll greats for 90s but flipping the millennium
really confuses me. It started out with an early rock vibes as it had for probably 30 years prior.
Then it moved into all of its own area with every artist sort of scouring its own way. I am not
sure how to play this influence role but for everyone, or well most. I believe it was seeing the
past 30 years and wanting something different. Artists took that to the extreme and glimmered
in their own ways. They then used each other as influences some aiming to be alike and some
aiming to change the music industry all up. I find that this generation of music is hard to find a
certain influence but more of a peer influence throughout all.

3) Explain what was the social climate in the 1990-today and how did this influence rock music?
I think the 90s was the last show for my favorite, the head bangers. It was attempted to
be carried on through the 2000s but struck out with no such luck. The attempt put a hush on
most of the culture; I noticed through these concerts it still alive. Maybe not as strong and
more calm but our long time runners are still here. One thing that bothered me was being one
of the youngest at any of these concerts I have been to, will this amazing genre be gone with
our parents generation. Will we carry on the head banging, I think it may be out of the
equation. With our most recent culture pushing them to do so, I am hoping one rock artist can
come up with one legendary song to provide some support to growing this genre back up.
Perhaps Led Zeppelin with their upcoming album, sadly only time and more banging will tell us.
Is it the end or just a rest for what seems to be a genre of old schools?

4) Is there an artist that is not on this list and should be included and why?
I can think of many amazing rock artist that should remain on this spot. I believe our
heart of music because of bands such as ACDC, KISS, Black Sabbath, Bon Jovi, Metallica, just to
name a few. Bands such as those should be still being looked up to, maybe for others it is time
for a change. For me, I would live to see a new generation of rock just like those bands which
are getting pretty high in age. It should not be up to them to carry rock on their brutal backs,
just wish I had the talent/fame to start a new generation of rock. Long live the head bangers.

5) Which clips would you choose to show and why?
Really, I believe anything support our genre disappearing in the dust. It needs our support but
for some reason we aint showing it. I have a list of favourite below; I see these as the ones that
stood out. I encourage the adding and supporting our rock. There is a fair bit in the list but as I
have talked about as you make your way down, it seems to narrow out. I believe any nineties/
early 2000s rock should have a light shun on it. One tiny step at a time, but imagine the reward
of reviving such a talented, disappearing culture.
