Dear Parent/Guardian,

Happy New Year! My name is Megan Geisel, and I will be a student teacher in Mrs.
Thomass first grade classroom. In the fall I was a practicum student in your
childs classroom on Tuesdays and Thursdays of each week. I have met several of
you, but I just wanted to express how excited I am to be back and working with
your child once again.

For many of you who dont know my background, I am currently a graduate student
at James Madison University obtaining my Masters in the Art of Teaching. I also
attended JMU for undergrad where I majored in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies
and minored in Elementary Education. At JMU I am a member of the JMU Womens
Club Soccer team where I enjoy playing the game, and staying fit and active. I
come to JMU from New Jersey where I grew up my entire life. I am an avid New
York Giants and Yankees fan. In the summer I spend my time at the Jersey shore
with family and friends. Living in the Shenandoah Valley the past four and half
years has been a great experience as this area has so much to offer.

I am so excited for what the next few months will bring. From my time in Mrs.
Thomass class thus far, I have already learned so much. I have also enjoyed
getting to know your child as well as being able to watch him/her grow academically
over the course of the school year. I look forward to continuing to work with your
child.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, please dont hesitate to email me at
geiselmp@dukes.jmu.edu.

I look forward to working with you and your child!

Sincerely,

Megan Geisel
