Structural design

Design Brief
Some problems I ran into where having the bars thick enough or if should be solid or hollow.

Research summary
I research this for all three types of steel given

I didnt do any research for my truss design
Brainstorming
I just tried diffident type of truss and frond one liked because it was the cheap
Modification
Tricking the bars or changing their length
Final bridge design
This is what it came out to be

Final design justification
The material I used was carbon steel and carbon steel hollow tubes. The trusss make a triangle
on both sides with a pier in the middle
Conclusion Questions
1. If it compression or tension. The diffident materials have a stronger or weaker
compression and tension and the bigger the cross-sectional area the harder it is to
break.
2. If it compress in one area it batter to use solid bar and if it stretches in an area use
hollow tubes.
