Living with Ilsa Hermann
After the bombing on Himmel street,
Liesel was all alone. All of her loved
ones were gone. Ilsa and the mayor came
to see the damage and noticed a little girl
all alone. Realizing that it was Liesel and
everyone she loved was gone, she knew
what she had to do. Instead of letting
Liesel go through the whole foster care
thing she decided to take her in as her
foster daughter.
Liesel and Max reunited
When Liesel was in Alex Steiners shop,
someone came through the door. A man
asked for a girl by the name of Liesel
Meminger. Alex tells the man she was in
the back. Liesel came out and saw who it
was. Max Vandenburg was standing in
front of her smiling. Liesel ran up to him
and hugged him and they both fell to the
floor. After, Max and Liesel went out to
eat lunch and discuss what had
happened. From then on, everyday Max
would meet Liesel at Alexs shop to go
eat lunch and read books.
Liesel Moves
After Liesel finished school, she decided
to leave Germany. She moved to sydney,
Australia. She wanted to travel the world.
I dont know why she chose Australia
but she did. She started all over; a new
life. She finally got over the death of all
her loved ones even though they still
haunt her. She brought her papas
accordion with her. That accordion
would never leave her because it was
what she had in remembrance of her
papa.
Liesels Husband
One day Liesel was sitting outside a
restaurant eating and reading a book. A
man walks by and notices the book she
was reading. He stops and talks to her
about the book. His name was Robert
Queen. He reminded Liesel of Rudy.
Same blue eyes and lemon hair. After 3
years of dating Robert proposed to
Liesel; she said yes. About a year later
Liesel and Robert had children. Years
later their children had children. Liesel
had her life back.
Liesel meets Death
Liesel, old and full of joy dies from old
age. She lived to be about 80 years old.
She was happy with her new life. She
had children and grandchildren. She had
a wonderful husband. When she finally
met death she saw all those memories
she had throughout her life. From her
birth family, to the Hubermanns, to Max,
to Ilsa, to Rudy, and even her husband
and children.
Reflection
These plot events stays true to Liesel character because it shows how courageous she is.
She lost everything and still found a way to live on. She moved out of Germany to start
a new life in Australia. She met a guy who years later became her husband and they
had children. Even though it was a bumpy road for her to live a normal good life, at the
end, she knew that it would get better and ended up having the life she always wanted.
