Philly's experimental electronic pop duo, tygerstrype, is prepping for the release of its second full-

length album, We Learn to Love our Chains. With the help of Grammy Award-winning producer Tim
Sonnefeld (of MilkBoy the Studio), Gabriel Guerrero (vocals) and Alden Towler (guitar) have turned
over 10 tracks of beat-driven electronic plunges, with haze thats contrast is sharp and definitive.
Coupled with ethereal pleasantries and enigmatic similes, their poetic force permeates and inundates
the senses with psychedelic euphoria.
Take "Prince" the first single off the new release thats rich with layers of
synthetic manipulation it clicks, snaps, drops and dreams into one
workable, contrasting track. Fuzzed-out synth and reverb meet lyrical
constructs that move like mountains, far away and then front-and-center
again, rolling through with psych-tronic persistence. The sound is far out
and spacey, a compliment to Guerrero's melodic vocal constructs with
lyrical inspirations stemming from the arab spring's social uprisings against
oppressive governments.
Gabriel Guerrero started tygerstrype as a solo project while living in Los Angeles, releasing his first
EP If We Only Had Faces in 2008. Guerrero called on Towler to help him record guitar parts for
several of the tracks for 2011's Lackadaisical Daisy. In winter of 2013, the duo began recording We
Learn to Love Our Chains, due out late this summer. The guys cite Pink Floyd, Animal Collective and
Caribou as their sound influencers for this release.

tygerstrype has previously performed at 2011's Eagle Rock Music Festival, the FMLY Fest in Philly
and LA in 2012, as well as countless venues in the Philly and Brooklyn area, including a show at
Johnny Brenda's with Braids and The Octopus Project.
"Swells of ethereal ambience and upbeat sequencers set to economically, yet effectively used beats
and Guerrero's crystal clear, powerful vocals and Towler's funky guitar licks." - Weed Temple
"tygerstrype pushes the boundaries of conventional pop through copious utilization of various
electronic manipulations with synths, samples, effects pedals, and looped vocals." - Hearing Gold
