OUR SCHOOL

Efa La Serna is a Secondary and Vocational school with proved experience in education. We
started our vocational studies about 40 years ago and expanded our offer to Secondary 15
years ago.
Its a little school, about 180 students, all girls, that offers Secondary studies as well as cooking
and administrative services as a Vocational school.
We are focused on the complete development of each student, in all human aspects -
intellectual, professional social and spiritual, based on catholic principles. Our staff are very
close to both the families and the students and our schools mentoring programme helps us
to bring out the best of each one. We are positive that a good family-school relationship is the
key for students success.
In terms of vocational studies, our system is very similar to the German dual training system.
Our students spend a third of their studies doing internships, in different companies, so that
they have a full work experience and training. The practical knowledge is completed by some
visits to companies and several expert talks.

SURROUNDINGS
Efa La Serna is located in Bolaos de Calatrava (Ciudad Real), a little town with a population of
12,000. Its about an hour s drive from Toledo and 2 hours from Madrid and Cordoba. There is
a nearby village, Almagro, that is well known for its International Festival of Theatre.
Our land is famous for being the land of Don Quixote, written by Miguel de Cervantes in the
16th century. There are two natural parks in the region: Tablas de Daimiel and Lagunas de
Ruidera. And our typical products are wine and manchego cheese (hard cheese).
