College of Education and Human Development May, 2014 To whom it may concern: This letter is to serve as the highest possible recommendation for Mr. Kyle Geiss, who completed his student teaching / internship in Integrated Social Studies inMay 2014 at Four County Career Center near Archbold, Ohio. Mr. Geiss completed his internship with high school students under the direction of Mr. Daniel Mundrick. Mr. Geiss was astandout student teacher who displayed only the finest personal and professional qualities throughout his field experience. I amparticularly impressed that, fromthe very beginning of his experience, he exhibited enthusiasm, excitement about teaching, apositive outlook about student achievement, asense of humor, and sincere happiness in his work. These characteristics have remained evident throughout his entire professional experience. Mr. Geiss worked hard to master the many aspects of effective teaching and graciously received and promptly implemented constructive criticism offered to him. Strengths in his performance included tending to every task with meticulous detail, the ability to recognize off task student behaviors and to correct those misbehaviors immediately in a positive and low-key manner, and the ability to develop and deliver engaging and interesting student-centered lessons. For example, Mr. Geiss created astudent project to demonstrate the lawmaking process. Students researched social issues and designed laws to alleviate those problems. Inturn, they provided the class with reasons to support their cause and attempted to pass their legislation. Mr. Geiss successfully integrated technology into the classroom whenever possible. He utilized computers for classroom-related activities and projects. I can honestly say that he would be an asset to the staff of any school. I strongly recommend that hebe given full consideration for the position. Respectfully yours, J ohn A.
