Sample TEEL paragraph for Telegraph newspaper article on Alex McKinnon:
A recent Telegraph newspaper article about the injured Newcastle Knights player Alex
McKinnon demonstrates Australian values as held by the team players and people of their
local town of Newcastle. Alex McKinnon recently suffered a horrific spinal injury, and the
telegraph article compares this tragedy to the Newcastle earthquake and the closure of BHP
to relate that Novocastrians value mateship and compassion for those in need. A quote in
the article from Kurt Gidley expresses that the town certainly gets right behind the team and
its players in tough times. From this, we see that the article really emphasises its
representation of community, compassion and mateship as significant Australian values.
