pg 17-18, question #1

to create an ergonomically correct environment for my employees I would keep padded chairs with five legs for
stability with the height of the seat between 37.5 and 52.5 cm from the floor. I would also keep the desks with
medium- and light-coloured surfaces with dull finish to help ease eye strain when reading. I would keep proper air
ventilations so my workers dont get sick
pg 19, question #1-3
1.I believe that the most important competencies that an ergonomist should have is a sense of comfort
and style because even though you have an ergonomically correct office, its not nice if the office is
really ugly. it is unpleasant to be in an uncomfortable position even though its good for you.
2. I think the employers would benefit from having an ergonomist on staff by being or relaxed in work.
They would also take less sick day off because the environment of the office wont cause any harm to
them. They will get to spend more time with their family because they wont come home from work
exhausted and sore.
3. The benefit of having an ergonomist on staff would outweigh the salary added because the levels of
sickness are reduced so people are spending less money on the medicines. a happier work place equals
to more productivity which may lead to a pay raise. So, even though adding an ergonomist to the budget
and having their salary decrease a small amount and are benefiting from it.
