Opening Statement

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, today we have gathered to find the truth behind the
killing of Julius Caesar. Cassius is called here today because, he is accused of murder. Caesar a
beloved man was killed for no good reason at the senate, and this man is believed to be a part
of this assassination. As you will see from the witnesses we call before you today, that this man
Cassius is guilty and should be punished. We all have known, Cassius to be an ambitious and
mischievous man, and be believe he would have done anything to get Caesar removed from
power.
If this included the murder of Caesar then so be it. We have all seen and heard Cassiuss power
to persuade and manipulate people to further his cause in the successful planning and eventual
assassination of Caesar. This is how he contrived to entangle one of Caesars closest friends (or
once close friends). He is a very dangerous man and deserves to face the full power of justice.
You will find out that this man has done almost everything to convince his companions Caesar
needs to die and how Caesar is unfit to rule roman. So now it is up to you ladies and gentlemen
of the jury to decide. Once we put our witnesses on the stand there will be no doubt Cassius is
guilty and hopefully you make the right decision.

Thank You
