At the tells us
about the position
of something. At
the top, the
highest point, or at
the bottom the
lowest point.

In the middle.
Inside is within a
shape.

Outside is not
within a shape. It is
out of a shape.
In between -
something is in the
space between two
other things.

Beside - something
is close to another
thing or group of
things, but not in
between.
On either side
means that
something is both to
the left, and to the
right.

There are doors
on either side
of your car.
In line with
means a straight
line can go through
the centers or edges
of shapes.
Something closer to
you is near you.
Something that is
not closer is farther
from you.
Over and Under are
above and
below on a
straight vertical line.
In front of means a
thing is between
you and another
thing. Behind means
another thing is
between you and a
thing.
Beyond is more
farther, more
behind, more not-
close, more away.
Things next to
other things are
close, and on the
same horizontal line.

Adjacent is a fancy
word for next to.
Upright is the shape
of things we
normally see. These
things can stand up.

Inverted things are
upside-down, or
ipped, or rotated
180. They usually
would fall down.
Above - something
is that is in a higher
vertical position is
above.

Something in a
lower vertical
position is below.
