Wenger to remain Arsenal boss until 2017 after signing new deal

London, May 31 (ANI): Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly elected to stay at the club
for three more years after signing a new deal that extended his contract until 2017.

The Frenchman, whose original contract was set to expire this summer, has guided the team to a
17th consecutive Champions League qualification since arriving in 1996 and ended a nine-year
wait for silverware with victory over Hull in the FA Cup final.

According to the BBC, Wenger expressed happiness over his new contract, saying that the club
is entering an exciting period as they have a strong squad, financial stability and huge support,
adding that he is grateful for the support shown to him by Arsenal.

Stating that he always got the right response whenever his togetherness with the club was
tested, Wenger also said that he believes he has shown loyalty to the club and hoped to make
more history with Arsenal in the future.

Wenger, who became the longest-serving manager in England when Sir Alex Ferguson retired
from Manchester United in May 2013, is credited with bringing new ideas about sports science
and nutrition to English football.

Hailing the manager, Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick said that Wenger is a man of
principle, who lives and breathes Arsenal, adding that he has established Arsenal for its
exciting playing style around the world, continues his commitment to young players and has the
ability to bring top-class players to the club. (ANI)
