Taking a step into the semi-darkness,

walking with only your past footsteps

to guide you. The soft glow of the
promising light reeling your limbs
forward, step by step. Like the pull of
gravity, a force of habit. Through the
crack of the opened door, slipping in
like the beam of moonlight,
stealthily, surely, step by step. Lifting
the covers, dropping on one knee,
fingertips remarking a trail across her
waist, cold feet collecting heat in a
tangle of limbs, sweet breath ghosting
over your dried lips, whispering:
Welcome back
and you lay in security and warmth,
in her arms
Home.
