    Sudibyo graduated from the Oil & Gas Academy in 1972 and worked for Pertamina for 10 years in various oil field operations including production engineering and crude oil loading. He then worked for ARCO Indonesia for 7 years as a production superintendent overseeing offshore platforms and well services. Sudibyo spent a year working for ARCO Alaska before returning to ARCO Indonesia for 2 more years as a senior superintendent. From 1992-1999, he worked as a senior operations superintendent for ARCO Indonesia's Bali North project involving the startup of a gas processing plant and pipeline.
