Civil Rights Directions For Final
The Geneseo Public Museum is remembering the American Civil Rights Movement. The
museum will be featuring a collection of students work showing the events in 1963 during the
civil rights movement. Each student and their partner will need to create an in-depth analysis of
one of the event that occurred during the civil rights movement in 1963 that was covered in the
Web Quest in class.
You have been asked to create a piece for the exhibit. You may choose from the following
presentation formats:
Oral presentation with visual aids
A written book with images
An artistic collage with descriptions
An mock interview from a primary source
A website
If you have any other ideas that are not listed for a presentation format, feel free to ask your teacher
if it would be acceptable.
In order to successfully complete this project, the museum has listed the following criteria,
regardless of your chosen format:
Information from primary and secondary sources
Information from the Web Quest
A mixture of images and words, either written or spoken
Connections between sources used
A personal, individual one page reflection
All sources should be cited appropriately
You will be given three social studies class periods to prepare for this presentation. You will also
need additional time outside of class. You will have the following materials available to use:
Computers
Internet
Printing Capabilities
Blank Books
Crayons, Markers, colored pencils
Assorted Papers
Other supplies available if requested
