Life of Pi: Pivotal Scene

I chose this scene in Life of Pi as my pivotal scene
because this was the scene that makes the reader start to
question how realistic the novel really is.

Pi arrives on the island after a big storm hits and his boat
drifts ashore. Pi and Richard Parker immediately fill up on
fresh water and find lots of food to satisfy them, as they
had no food left over on their boat.

The scene takes place on Algae Island it is an island full
of meerkats and freshwater ponds. The island becomes strange
by nightfall because Pi noticed dead fish rise to the
surface of the ponds at night and disappear by morning.
There were a few more scenes on the island that made me
question the book. There were teeth in the center of leaves
that were glued together taking in the appearance of
fruit. The final decision was made Pi decides he cannot stay
on the island so he packs lots of food for Richard Parker
and himself, leave the carnivorous island and set out to sea
once again.
