Reading Assessment

Individual Checklist
o Students will read a list of words that are common in the texts.
Teacher will keep track of words that students know. If a student
struggles on a word, then that will be marked as incorrect.

Rhyming Assessment
o Students will complete an additional rhyming sheet with di!erent
words that were not in the texts. This will help to see if students
are able to determine words that rhyme. As a further assessment,
students will need to write a word that rhymes with a word from a
list.
Writing Assessment

Sentence Assessment
o Students will be asked to write three sentences about a selected
topic. Sentences will be analyzed for correct spelling of sight
words, capital letters at the beginning of the sentences, and
periods at the end of the sentences.

Descriptive Assessment
o Students will write and/or draw about a selected topic. The writing
and/or drawing will be evaluated on its descriptiveness. Details
will be looked for in the writing and illustrations.
