Dear Parent(s) or Guardian:

We are starting a Filipino/Pacific Islander group at Nathan Hale High School focusing on
personal development (social/emotional development and academic/career choices).
We would appreciate _________________________________ (Student Name) to be a part of
our group. Our group will meet during lunchtime for 30 minutes every Wednesday for the next
4-6 weeks.
The group will be run by Tony Foland, the Intern School Counselor at Nathan Hale HS. School
Counselors, Ms. Tina Camero and Ms. Marion Howard, will be supervising him in order to
ensure that a successful group is facilitated.

The group will focus on topics such as:
Exploring Culture and Ethnicity
Exploring Future Career Choices (2 yr or 4 yr College, Tech Schools, Etc..)
Dealing with Social Pressures and Stress
Solving Problems and Making Positive Choices

To allow your child to participate in this group please complete the permission slip below and
have him or her return it to the Counseling Office at Nathan Hale High School as soon as
possible. Feel free to contact Tony Foland or his supervisors with any questions or concerns you
