What is creativity?
Creativity is a way of expressing your
ideas by using your imagination to
create a high standard piece of
work/film. Creativity is a phenomenon
whereby something new and valuable is
created (such as an idea, a joke, an
artistic or literary work, a painting or
musical composition, a solution, an
invention etc.). Theories of creativity
(particularly investigation of why some
people are more creative than others)
have focused on a variety of aspects.
The dominant factors are usually
identified as "the four Ps" - process,
product, person and place. Theories
invoking divergent rather than
convergent thinking (such as Guilford),
or those describing the staging of the
creative process (such as Wallas) are
primarily theories of creative process.
What creative features are
used in a horror trailer?
In horror creativity is used in the decisions of characters, settings, editing, sounds, special
effects, costumes and narratives. The use of sound will make a trailer more tense and
frightening as everything will seem fine until the music begins. Also with settings the area
will need to have a spooky look to make the audience feel more on edge.

With most horror films they all mainly have the same plot for example the film starts of with
a normal family and the situation gradually gets worse until they come to the realisation
there is a monster or spirit, the hero will die or get seriously hurt to show that the villain is
very powerful, sometimes they may reappear at the end.

To make the film more realistic in the trailer producers say its based on a true story to create
a more verisimilitude effect and make the scare of the film take its effect in real life as the
audience begin to think differently.

Appropriate mise en scene costumes should also be used to create a desired effect this is
also relevant for the lighting and setting as it sets a mood and therefore the tone of the film
and the audiences reactions to the film.
