USA is among the wealthiest countries in the world whereas Mexico is a less developed country.
They have a long
border in common. Its almost 2000-miles-long. It is the most frequently crossed international border in the world with 350 million crossings being made annually. Its highly secured to prevent illegal crossings. Between the North and the South of this border the contrast is the most striking. What makes the USA-Mexican border dynamic? I. human flows -mex want better wages and so they move on to the border where are the best wages in their country. -some cross the border to some large regional centers or to some cities near the border where they have better wages than in mexico -these crossings r legal and illegal: estimated half million illegal crossings and 350m legal. Hundreds die each year -these crossings r all over the border
II. economic flows -twin cities on the border but usually the ones on the Mexican side r bigger because the plants r moving from the American side to the Mexican side. On the Mexican side the employers pay less than in USA but more than usually in mexico. - big economic concentration on the border because employers come to employ people for not much because there is Mexicans who r usually poor and r looking for a job. -populations in the twin cities on the American side is bigger than on the Mexican side but the labor force is greater on the Mexican side.
