Natural Disasters
And Adverse event is defined as a natural process of the Earth that can affect the
lives of our families, neighbors and friends. Some serious adverse events are
floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, fires, or droughts.
During the last twenty years, VEnezuelas was affected by some of these events. In
2005, El Valle de Mocotes, Estado Mrida, was flooded by the rise of Mucuches
and San Francisco rivers.
Due to extreme droughts that were caused by the El Nio phenomenon and
climatic change, great extensions of national forests such as Parque Nacional
Henry Pitier and the Waraira Repano were destroyed by wildfires during 2010.
