To whom it may concern,

Dear Administrator,

I am writing to express my interest in a teaching position in your school district. I am confident my
passion and abilities as a teacher would be well suited in a position in your district.

In December 2013 I completed my Bachelors of Science degree at Grand Valley State University in Grand
Rapids, Michigan. I completed a double major in Comprehensive Science and Arts for Teaching and
Special Education. I also have completed an endorsement in Cognitive Impairment and am working
towards an endorsement in Early Childhood Education. While student teaching in a 6th grade self
contained classroom, I worked with the teacher to create a positive behavior management system.
Using this system we were able to increase the amount of positive behavior in a classroom where
negative behavior was prevalent.

I have always had a passion for working with children, especially those with disabilities. My passion for
teaching stems from having a cousin with a severe cognitive impairment. My hopes for her are that she
will be blessed with teachers that see her potential and work to help her meet her highest potential. As
a teacher I hope to be this person for my students and I will do all I can to ensure I help all of my
students reach their highest potential.

Please consider this letter and my resume as an expression of my sincere interest in a teaching position
in your district. I am confident that my skills and experiences as a teacher will enable me to create an
accepting and student centered classroom. I believe in my abilities to be the kind of teacher I wish for
my cousin. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Carly Pomarius
