We asked the students some questions after then they wrote a

pharagraph about Oliver Twist .

1- Student: Smeyye Nur Dolu Class 4/ E
Olivers story made me really sad. I thanked God that I am not in
the same conditions. He was punished by the things he didnt do.
He was forced to work at the age of 10 and especially he was
forced to steal by Fagin.
I am against the idea of working children. Children shouldnt work
but they should go to school at that age.
2-Student: Meryem Sudenaz Keskin Class 4/ E
Olivers life at that age made really sad. As a child he has rights but
he can2t have them.
He has no father or mother. He just has soup. Everybody
Children have rights. Children have the right to entertain, to play
games and laugh and
I do not often see working children around but I rarely see them
and I believe that it should finish totally at this age.

3-Student : Burak Aslan Class: 4/C
Oliver Twists story was really sad . At last the happy ending comes
but until then I really felt sas for him.

4- Student: Elif Dilara Ekiolu Class: 4/ C
Oliver Twist was a poor little boy without any parents. So his story
made me really sad at first.
In my opinion children shouldnt work. They should go to school.
People who force children to work as a thief like Fagin should be
arrested by the police. We sometimes hear about some families
who make their children work for the family. It is not fair. These
children are protected by the government. They are taken from
their families and sent to special houses for children. Thats is very
good for the children.

5- Student. Erol Tenlik Class: 4/ C
This story made me really sad because he has no mother or father
and he is staying at a dormitory after then they tried to make him
work for a chimney cleaner. At that age they used children to
clean chimneys. Because chimneys were small and only children
could get into them easily. And it is a very dangerous job. After
then they gave him to an undertaker house. But after some
problems he runs away to London . He gets very tired and his feet
hurt a lot and he gets hungry a lot. He meets a boy in London and
he helps him and he takes him to the house he lives and there
Oliver meets Fagin. In that house children live with Fagin. Fagin
teaches them how to pick pocket. They steal from peoples pockets
and bring everything to Fagin .
It is not fair to make children work. I sometimes see napkin seller
children on the streets . This makes me sad.
Sometimes we hear lost children news on Tv. Perhaps those kids
are kidnapped for such aims. Families look for their children and
this is so sad.

6- Student: Ali zdemir
Oliver twist is a very good boy. He doesnt want to steal. When
they didnt give him food I really felt sad for him.
I sometimes see Street seller children.

7- Student: Ayenur Datan
Oliver s story made me sad because at that age , children were
forced to work like a slave. Especially the orphan ones. The adults
were working less but the children were working much at that age
at that time in England. Oliver is a very good boy and he deserves
the best mother and father . He never wants to do anything bad.

8- Student: M.Enes Kuzu
I think, children mustnt work. It is not true. I sometimes see
working teenagers . If they are working in summer holiday as a part
time worker to earn their pocket money, it is okay then. But If they
dont go to school but work it is not right.

9- Student: Zeynep Sla Dural Class 4/A
Oliver Twists life made me sad a lot. Cause we are having a very
comfortable life if we make a comparison. We can eat as much as we
want and we have a happy life far from such realities of life. Olivers
life is miserable . Today , there are some countries and in those
countries there are starving children and in some countries children
die because of war. All these are making me very sad.
10-Student : Ayben Yldz
Oliver Twistss life is miserable and sad. Because he is in poverty and
suffering from hunger. He works hard but he eats very less.
I do believe that there are some children in likewise situations at this
age.
11- Student Bura Han Yldrm Class 4 / B
A child suffering at that age. At my age. This is very sad and touchy.
There are children who suffer from hunger in poor conditions today.
I dont know any woking child where I live.
I especially cant stand the idea of the orphan children who are
forced to steal or purse snatching with the order of older ones.
