I chose Rome coliseum because it has lots of history and also hosts many

tourists, this is in a very beautiful country and I would like to know this coliseum
for their form and look closely how this is built
The Coliseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre is an
elliptical amphitheater in the center of the city of Rome, Italy. Built
of concrete and stone, It was the largest amphitheater of the Roman Empire,
and is considered one of the greatest works of Roman
architecture and engineering.
The Coliseum is situated just east of the Roman Forum.
Unlike other coliseums, which were built on the outskirts of the city, the
Coliseum was placed in the center thereof; literally in the heart of Rome.
Unlike earlier Greek theatres that were built into hillsides, the Coliseum is an
entirely free-standing structure. It derives its basic exterior and interior
architecture from that of two Roman theatres back to back.
According to the Codex-Calendar of 354, the Coliseum could accommodate
87,000 people, although modern estimates put the figure at around 50,000.
They were seated in a tiered arrangement that reflected the rigidly stratified
nature of Roman society.
In The Coliseum in Rome, were held gladiatorial combats between beasts and
some other public events.
This wonder of the world was declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1980,
and since the day July 7, 2007 became part of the new wonders of the modern
world.
