I could argue scarcity is good because it helps foster competition that makes competitors stronger.

I could argue that scarcity is bad because it makes people get left out. I could dispute that last
statement to say what's wrong with leaving out the weak, so only the best get to survive, if the weak
are just wasting space?
Note: the weak in this sense doesn't have to be physical, and it doesn't have to relate to humanity.
