To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter on behalf of Kendra Prudhomme, a colleague of mine at the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center (MACTC). I got to know Kendra very well last school year when I changed my career and became a consultant at the MACTC. She worked closely with me to help me adjust to my new employment responsibilities and educate me on building policies and procedures. We communicated regularly on several student issues and program concerns. It was because of Kendras knowledge, guidance, and helpful nature that my first year at the Career Tech Center was a success.
Kendra is an incredible student advocate. She communicates with students, staff and community members to promote student success and develop opportunities for students to implement plans for the future. Kendra organized personal interviews with all seniors in the building to help them assess any needs they had for future college or career plans. Students trust Kendra and often contact her for academic, personal, and career counseling. She has a special ability to develop positive relationships with students and encourage successful educational experiences.
Kendra also demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills with staff. She was a leader in formulating and facilitating an attendance committee aimed at improving student attendance at the MACTC. She inspired staff members of the committee to develop a clear and consistent method of documenting absences, making needed contacts, and implementing interventions to positively impact student attendance. She is respected for her willingness to be involved in the facilitating and planning of this committee and its activities.
It is a pleasure to be able to work with Kendra and develop a close friendship with her. The Muskegon Area Career Tech Center is fortunate that she is a member of our team. I have no doubt that Kendra would be a quality employee and a positive addition to any staff. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Amy Urban Special Populations Teacher Consultant Muskegon Area Career Tech Center
