Director of Human Resources,

I have a very strong interest in pursuing a teaching career. With experience working at both the
elementary and high school levels, as well as in activities outside of the traditional classroom, I have a diverse
background with much to offer.

As the youngest of five siblings, I was raised to appreciate and understand hard work and traditional
family values. I have been employed in one way or another since my first job working for my father when I
was 12 years old. I believe that you will find my character; work ethic and teaching experience make me an
excellent candidate and gives me the ability to become a valuable resource at your School District.

I have substitute teaching experience at the DuBois Area School District and student teaching
experience in Biology at the ninth and twelfth grade levels at both Punxsutawney Area and Clarion-Limestone
Area High Schools. I have a Bachelors Degree in Biology Education and a Masters Degree in Technology
Education and will soon have an Instructional Technology Specialist Certification. During my teaching
experiences, I utilized technology in 70% of my instruction. This not only enhanced my instruction but also
enabled the students to engage in curriculum across multiple subjects. I ask you to visit my e-portfolio at
http://kimhanslovanportfolio.weebly.com/ to get a better understanding of my qualifications.

I have a solid belief in teaching students for the future and incorporating technology in fundamental
subjects is the best way to accomplish that. While attending Graduate School full time I held the graduate
assistant-ship with Clarion Universitys track and field program. I have a strong passion for Track and Field and
have been competing for the past 11 years. I have held the record in Javelin at both Penn State University Main
Campus and Clarion University. I am training to compete in the 2016 Olympic Trials in hopes of making it to
Rio.

During my education and athletic experiences, I have developed skills and capabilities relevant to a
technology and biology teachers responsibilities. These include a thorough understanding of science, biology
and technology content, a familiarity with behavior management strategies, an established desire to rise to the
top, strong work ethic, good time management skills, exceptional communication skills and a profound ability
to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.

As a fresh and passionate teacher, I am excited at the prospect of working at your School District where
I will be able to make the most of my capabilities. To discuss my teaching skills in more detail please do not
hesitate to contact me. I am available on my cell at (814) 541-1839 or email at k.s.hanslovan@eagle.clarion.edu

Thank you for your interest,

Kimberly S. Hanslovan
