1. Purpose of the Job
o deliver the Community Sport and Physical Activity Service throu!h
supervisin! and instructin!" #uality activity sessions for all sections of the
community. Cover the duties of or assist other sports coaches $hen re#uired.
%. Main Activities
%.1 &ou $ill be re#uired to coach and supervise on a ran!e of Community Sport and
Physical Activity services throu!h supervisin! activity leaders and $or'
e(perience students and !ivin! instruction and !uidance on sport)s* techni#ues
to increase interest and competence.
%.% &ou $ill be re#uired to encoura!e participation throu!h plannin! and
implementin! a stimulatin! and varied pro!ramme of activities" in a safe and
e#uitable environment.
%.+ ,or' on local sports and fitness pro!rammes $ithin club" school and community
settin!s" as $ell as local and -ational initiatives $ithin the Borou!h.
%.. /otivate and supervise any supportin! staff" $or' e(perience students and
volunteers.
%.0 ,or' varied hours includin! school holiday periods" daytimes" evenin!s and
some $ee'end $or' on an as and $hen re#uired basis.
%.1 Distribute publicity material to participants to promote Community Sport and
Physical Activity activities.
%.2 Chec' sports e#uipment to ensure that it is safe for use and report any
brea'a!es 3 missin! e#uipment to the appropriate persons. 4nsure that unsafe
items are not used.
%.5 Account for the use and issue of all e#uipment and ensure safe return at the end
of sessions.
%.6 7ssue tic'ets and receive payments and ensure that such payments are properly
accounted for and paid to the Community Sport and Physical Activity eam as
soon as possible" in accordance $ith established procedures.
%.18 9nderta'e surveys of users.
%.11 Complete monitorin! forms on conclusion of each session and return to the
Community Sport and Physical Activity eam $ith your time sheet on a $ee'ly
basis.
%.1% Distribute and collate evaluation forms from participants $hen re#uired.
%.1+ Attend staff meetin!s and both internal and e(ternal trainin! as part of the staff
development and mentorin! scheme. Attend at least one e(ternal trainin!
course per year of employment.

sessions and other activities.
