I am writing in response to the posted 6
th
grade Mathematics teacher position. I have a
Bachelors of Arts degree in Elementary Education with Mathematics as the focus. I have
previous experience working in the education system as a Paraeducator and
Administrative Assistant. As a result I desired to pursue a career as a teacher so I may
contribute more to the children attending school.
I enjoy working with children and doing math so combining both will be a positive
experience. I hope to motivate and inspire the students to enjoy and apply mathematical
skills. I desire to create a solid foundation in the students education so future learning will
not be hindered.
My experiences have taught me there are many learning styles. I will attempt to do my best
to accommodate them as a teacher, but also coordinate efforts with other departments to
provide all possible opportunities for each individual student. I can offer experience,
patience, optimism, flexibility, and persistence along with my education to the students I
will instruct, the educators I will work with, and the parents I will conference with.
Education is a coordinated effort that can benefit the individuals involved and community
it exists in. I wish to positively contribute to it.
