DIRECTED WRITING

TARGET GROUP: AVERAGE STUDENTS

Appoint a group leader of a with a higher proficiency in English


Divide the students in groups of 4 or 5
Each group will be given the hand out below and teacher will explain the task.
Refer to SPM 2011 Paper 1. Section A - Directed Writing.
Each group will have to complete a table by giving reasons and further
explanation/examples for every main content point.
Teacher will assign a paragraph for each group to write on a mahjong paper.
The focus is only on elaborating/writing the content points.
Every group will select a representative to read and share their paragraph ( which has been
written on a mah-jong paper)
Teacher and student will edit the work together.
Every student will copy the paragraphs and every group will work on the introductory
paragraph and the conclusion.
Enrichment activity : A parallel writing assignment
Follow the same steps.
