To Whom It May Concern:
Kristen Zaleski student taught with me at Jaffrey Grade School in my second grade classroom from October 10 through December 6 2013. Jaffrey Grade School is a K-5 public school with approximately 400 students. The school is located in rural Southwestern New Hampshire. My second grade class is made up of sixteen students (age 7 and 8).
During Kristen's first week she confidently took over daily responsibilities and routines, such as attendance, checking work, morning meeting and read aloud. She prepared and implemented math, reading and writing lessons. In addition, Kristen developed and taught a mapping unit, which reflected understanding of the Common Core standards and incorporated a wide-range of activities. Lessons were purposeful and often hands-on. Kristen communicated effectively with parents through an introductory letter and fall conferences.
Kristen's calm, gentle and pleasant personality made it easy for her to develop a positive rapport with all students. She genuinely demonstrated care and respect for all students. Kristen's outstanding qualities include her ability to establish a positive relationship with students, preparation and planning of lessons and creating a positive classroom environment. I was most impressed with Kristen's consistency and follow through with behavior management. In addition, I found Kristen to be extremely cooperative and reliable. She noticed what needed to be done to maintain a smooth running classroom and took the initiative to do things without being asked. She is enthusiastic and hard-working.
Kristen is a bright and thoughtful teacher. She is a well organized, caring person who is dedicated to the care of her students. She possesses enthusiasm and skills to be a successful elementary school teacher. I strongly recommend Kristen for a teaching position at any district.
