Abstract

Anxiety is a feeling of fear that is not clear and is not supported by the situation, a
person will feel anxious when they feel uncomfortable or may have feeling danger when even
someone does not understand why the emotion that threatens to happen. Anxiety levels is
depended on the type of treatment received and the ability to used coping mechanism. In the
face of wife's pregnancy primigravida who experience morning sickness are many
phenomena encountered in respondents experiencing anxiety that starts from mild anxiety to
severe anxiety.
This study purposed to identify the level of anxiety disorders of husbands to pregnant
women with morning sickness on the first trimester primigravida at the District of East
Ciputat in 2013, which took place on 14 to 20 November 2013. This research is descriptive
quantitative with total samples were 66 respondent. Sampling was using purposive sampling
methode. The level of anxiety was measured with questionaire that has been standardized
and has been modified by Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (ZSAS).
The analysis of data was using univariate with distribution and frequency . Univariate
results showed the characteristics of the husband age most of the early adult ( 29 years ) 34
respondents ( 51.5 % ) , the picture of education have higher education levels are high 47
respondents ( 71.2 % ) , the description of the job has a job the bulk of working as a private
employee / self-employed by 58 respondents ( 87.9 % ) , the majority of wives ' pregnancies
at 12 weeks gestation ( first trimester ) is 21 respondents ( 87.9 % ) , and the husband's level
of anxiety in the face of morning sickness primigravida pregnant women mostly on mild
anxiety level 40 respondents ( 60.6 % ) , anxiety levels were 22 respondents ( 33.3 % ) ,
while severe anxiety level 4 respondents ( 6.1 % ) . The necessity of the nurse 's role to
determine and identify problems that make anxious husband so it can perform appropriate
interventions to reduce anxiety levels by providing more complete information about
pregnancy first trimester primigravida pregnant women to their husbands .
