Tom:

In a way Tom is most responsible for Gatsbys death. When Wilson came to his
house asking about the yellow car Tom knew he had a gun. He says so him self by
saying, His hand was on a revolver in his pocket every minute he was in the house.
He says this to try and defend himself for saying what he said to Wilson. But then he
becomes defiant and says, What if I did tell him. For a moment Tom might have felt
some guilt before Nick, or some remorse for telling Wilson that the car was Gatsbys
but then the remorse leaves and he doesnt care if his actions killed Gatsby. In Toms
mind though he thought Gatsby had it coming because from what Tom knew
Gatsby had killed Myrtle and hadnt even stopped his car after the murder. So Toms
intent could have been righteous, doesnt a guilty man deserve punishment and a
grieving man deserve closure? Tom also cared about Myrtle. Nick saw him crying
after they left the scene of her death, In a little while I heard a low husky sob and
saw that tears were overflowing down his face. Tom is responsible for Gatsbys
death because he confessed to telling a man with a gun whom it was that owned the
car that ran over his wife.

Daisy:
Daisy was the one who actually ran over Myrtle.
Daisy didnt take responsibility for her actions.
Daisy is partially responsible for Gatsbys death. In the actual act of killing him she is
responsible for being the one who actually drove over Myrtle. Daisy killed Myrtle
and never confessed to it, simply letting Gatsby take the blame for her. Daisy was in
a terrible mood on the drive back from town and was irresponsible in taking the
wheel. She killed Myrtle and yet she in no way took responsibility for it. Daisy is
responsible for killing Gatsby because she if she hadnt run over Myrtle then no one
would be seeking revenge. If she had confessed to the murder Gatsby wouldnt have
been s out by a mad man. With out her actions Gatsbys life would never have been
in danger.
