o Shall (shall not: shant) will, would nunca se contraen al final de la frase.

CAN: para decir que algo es posible o no. Cooking can be a real pleasure. Thin cannot be the answer
COULD / MIGHT / MAY: No se est seguro de que algo es cierto. That could be one reason.
COULD HAVE / MAY HAVE / MIGHT HAVE: Hay una posibilidad de que algo ocurri en el pasado pero no ests seguro
COULD NOT HAVE: is posible que algo no ocurri. He didnt have a boat, so he couldnt have rowed away.
