1.a) Compare FIR and IIR filters.
b) Design a Polyphase filter for interpolator of I=3 and the input signal is
x(n) ={x(0) x(1) x(2) x(3) } with neat structure.

2.a) What is the need for sampling rate conversion? Give its applications
b) The bandwidth of a sequence x(n) is 3.4 KHz and it sampling rate is to be
reduced, by decimation from 240 KHz to 8KHz. Assume that an Optimal FIR
filter is to be used, with an overall passband ripple 0.05 and stopband ripple
0.01.Design efficient Two Stage Decimator.

3. Discuss the method of estimating the parameters in a recursive way using
Levinson Durbin Algorithm with necessary equations. Compare the computations
with schur algorithm.

4.a) Prove that Periodogram is an inconsistent estimate of power spectral density.
b) Discuss Bartlett method of power spectrum estimation.

5.a) Bring out the relationship between Auto Correlation and Model Parameters of
ARMA, AR, MA Models.
b) Discuss Yule-Walker method of Power Spectrum Estimation.

6.a) Discuss in detail about Addition overflow errors and their remedies
b) What are Limit Cycles? Explain its types in brief.

7. Bring out the Comparison of the following:
a) FIR and IIR Filters w.r.t Phase, Stability and No. of Computations.
b) Parametric and Non-Parametric Methods of Power Spectrum Estimation.

8.a) Define prediction and hence discuss Forward and Backward Prediction.
