sugar providing empty calories, which
means they dont have any of the good
stuff like vitamins and minerals and they
leave you feeling hungry

Walk through Think Your Drink
Handout:
Always look at the label. Choose the
items that are lower in sugar.

Sugar can be listed on the ingredient list
in many different forms such as high-
fructose corn syrup, fructose, sucrose
and dextrose. You want to watch the
ingredient list for all of these terms and
do not want them as the first three
ingredients listed.

Tips to cut down on sugar sweetened
beverages:
-Choose juices only that say 100% fruit
juice
-Beverages ending in -ade or punch
dont contain very much fruit juice and
have a lot of added sugars
-When youre thirsty, go for water or
low fat milk.
-Try to drink pop only once per day
- Keep cold water bottles on the bottom
shelf of the fridge
- Make water more fun by adding slices
of lemon, lime, watermelon or
strawberry.

4. Evaluation Method/ Activity:
What will you drink when you go home tonight?

5. Call to Action (Ask your audience what they will do/change as a result of the presentation. Can be oral or
written, shared or not. The point is to get them to commit to some behavior change as a result of your class):
What will you do to make better beverage choices tomorrow?

6. Ending/Conclusion: Questions/comments taken. Thank you stated.
Iwill conclude our presentation after we do the sugary beverage activity.
