Peer Teaching Reflection #2: Teaching a Rote Song with
Integrated Lyrics

During my preparation of this assignment I had difficulties in composing lyrics
that I could relate to a social studies curriculum and that the lyrics would match that
corresponding pitch and rhythm of the song. In addition, there is a necessity for me to
speak louder and in a more gestural manner that would engage children into singing the
song after the multiple times of singing.
Nonetheless, some advantages that I was able to work properly were the steps of a
rote song. After all students are going to be depending and learning through the correct
instructions that I provide. Some other particular improvements with respect to the
Chanting Assignment, I was able to make accurate breathing pauses.
To conclude, although I was not able to compose perfect lyrics that would fit the
melody of the song. I was able to learn from the presentations of my peers characteristics
and examples that would require composing a good song for children.
