Sub: Request for Guest lecture/ Training Program on Energy Efficiency
& Management for B Tech Students
Sir,
I am serving as a Principal Director in Defence Services. I am a qualified energy professional
and voluntarily work to promote energy efficiency programs. I am life member of various
professional organisations working in this field and am presently Chairman, Delhi Chapter of
Institute of Hospital Engineering (India), an association of Hospital Professionals federated with
International Federation of Hospital Engineering promoting energy efficiency among one of the
areas of activities. I have been delivering lectures/training on the subject at various forums. I am
approaching to you in this context.
Energy conservation and energy management skills are in demand in industries and
buildings sector after the promulgation of Energy Conservation Act. Development of these skills
among engineering professionals have acquired urgency in view of Indias international commitment
to reduce its energy intensity up to 25% by 2025 from 2005 level .
To meet this target, there is a growing need of trained energy professionals. Training in
energy management process & techniques will provide basic knowledge and additional skill to final
& pre-final B Tech students which is highly valued by the industries in view of energy management
becoming mandatory under Energy Conservation Act.
I am sure your enlightened leadership will appreciate the need to promote energy efficiency
among your students and to enhance their employability potential by facilitating their training in
basic skills of energy engineering & management. 10% energy reduction has been feasible in
organisations by simply creating basic awareness among the occupants of the facility.
