Objective:

To gauge mentees awareness of their


vocabulary level.

Activities : Tell Me More( 10 Minutes)
a) Listen to the song (Wheels on the bus)
b) Mentor distributes lyrics to the mentees
(Handout: 3.1A)
c) Mentees brainstorm the words that are related to
the picture and the song.
d) Get mentees to list out the words in the vocabulary
sheet. (Handout: 3.1B)

Objective:
To enhance mentees confidence in teaching and
learning of vocabulary.

Activities: (10 Minutes)
a) a) Mentor shares the principles in teaching
vocabulary through Slide 4 or (Module:Unit 3:
Page 2)
b) b) Discuss roughly about the topic to test their
understanding.
Teaching simple and clear
Relate to past experience
Use both oral and written presentation
Give most attention to words that are
already partly known
Should remember high frequency word

To improve mentees ability to identify range of
vocabulary that is suitable to a topic.

Activities: (10 Minutes)
a) Mentor shares the criteria for selection of vocabulary
through power point presentation.
b) Discuss the topic to test their understanding.
