Using the information given by the National Alliance on Mental
Illness (NAMI), we are able to find that the average number of people suffering from mental illness is a total of 3.56% of the population (11,318,798 people). Of this 3.56%, teenagers make up a total of 11% of that number (1,245,067 teenagers). This number is doing nothing but rise, and it is up to us as a nation to further develop programs and organizations to better the lives of these people that may potentially become victims of mental disorders.
