Aloha-biz starts in Suo-Oshima
This tradition started 29 years ago in 1986 on Suo-Oshima,
Sister Island to Kauai, Hawaii. Now workers in 84 offices
on the island, including the town office, banks, and post
offices, wear Aloha shirts from June 23
rd
to August 31
st
.






Say Aloha to Saturday Hula!
Every Saturday on Suo-Oshima, there are hula
performances throughout the island.

NHK announces Hana Moyu
This new Taiga Drama for 2015 will be set around the time
of the Meiji Restoration, nearly 150 years ago. Mao Inoue
will star as Fumi, the younger sister of Yamaguchi-born
Yoshida Shoin, one of the great thinkers of the time. We
hope this drama will increase peoples recognition of
Yamaguchi.

The Great Ukiyo-e Exhibition is now open!
Masterpieces of Ukiyo-e have been gathered from across
the world, including Honolulu Museum of Art. Yamaguchi
Prefectural Art museum is receiving many visitors to this
popular exhibit.

FIFA World Cup
Japan may have lost in the group stage, but you could still
see the team spirit in Yamaguchi.
Yanai City painted their traditional paper goldfish lanterns,
Kingyo Chochin, Samurai Blue in support of the Japanese
National Team.
