Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)

Respiratory illness cause dby the coronavirus called sars associated coronacirus
The syndrome begins with a fever, an overall feeling of discomfort, body aches and mild respiratory
symptoms
After 2 to 7 days, the patient may develop dry cough and dyspnea
Infection is spread by close person to person contract by direct contact with infectious materials
Prevention includes avoiuding contact with those suspected of having sars, avoiding travel to countries
where an outbreak of sars exist, avoiding close contact with crowds in areas where sars exist and
frequent hand washing if an area where sars exist.
