AC/DC

AC/DC is an Australian rock band formed in 1973 by brothers Malcom and
Angus Young. AC/DC is generally classified as hard rock and they are considered
pioneers of heavy metal. Current members of AC/DC include Brian Johnson,
Malcom Young, Phil Rudd, Angus Young and Cliff Williams. Their first album,
High Voltage, was released in February 1975, and their next album, Powerage,
was released in 1977. Membership was unstable in this band, as Mark Evans was
replaced by Cliff Williams in 1977, and lead singer Bon Scott died in 1980.

Their most recent album, Black Ice, released in October 2008, was quite a big hit.
The first song, Rock n Roll Train, tells about a life in a dream-like world, with a
repetitive chorus of Runaway Train. The instruments which are used are the
electric guitar, drums, bass guitar, and the voice. The vocal part and electric
guitar creates the melody, the bass guitar enhances this melody, and the drums
are used to keep the beat, and also create a lot of noise. The elements of heavy
metal are evident in this song, due to the emphasis of drums and bass guitar,
increased volume, and distortions. The electric guitars texture is altered and the
voice is distorted, emphasising this affect.
