Letter home to parents about myself as an early
childhood educator

January 29, 2014

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Hello! My name is Nora Reynolds and I will be your childs
student teacher in Miss Michelles class through early May. I am
working towards an Associate of Applied Science degree in Early
Childhood Education at Ivy Tech Community College.
During this semester I will be in both the three year olds and
4/5 year olds classrooms , all day on Tuesday and Thursday and
Friday mornings, observing the children and assisting Miss
Michelle with the daily activities in the classrooms. I will be working
closely with the children and I am excited to be given the
opportunity to get to know them!
Currently, I work for St. Paul Parish and School as the Sunday
Religious Education director for children in grades preschool
through twelve and I teach religion to the schools fifth and sixth
grade classes. I am also the school librarian.
I believe that all children are unique and special and should
be encouraged to be independent, confident and competent. When
young children are properly nurtured they are more likely to be
successful academically and socially as they prepare to enter
Kindergarten. I am looking forward to spending time with your
child to help teach them the skills necessary to be successful in life!
Sincerely, Mrs. Nora Reynolds
